Robert Saleh Makes His Feelings About Cam Ward Clear

The first season for Cam Ward in 2025 did not go as planned, as theTennessee Titans ended up finishing with a 3-14 record. The disorganization from the team led to a major overhaul, including at the head coach spot as Robert Saleh now steps in as the new head coach.

With Saleh just coming in, it is clear Ward has already made an impression on Saleh.

Over training camp so far, Saleh has been impressed by Ward, enough so to speak glowingly of him by saying, "He’s a dawg. He’s always bugging me for more reps. He’s always talking smack to the defense. He’s so firey, competitive, and talented. He can make any throw."

Ward's rookie numbers didn't look great, but they showed enough for the Titans to keep the faith in him that with the right coaching staff he could develop into something special.

Ward ended up having 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns with seven interceptions last season while also adding 159 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. The accuracy was a big area for Ward to improve upon as he completed just 59.8% of his passes last season while also being sacked 55 times.

Some of those sacks were protection issues, but Ward also needed to become more aware of sensing the pressure and processing what he saw from defenses faster.

The encouraging sign from Ward is that he is already improving in these areas throughout training camp, which prompted Saleh's praise. He has looked more in command of the offense and seems to be progressing with his reaction times to what he is seeing from the defense.

With Ward consistently looking to improve and embracing responsibility, he will undoubtedly continue to improve, and it should pay off immensely for the Titans this upcoming season.
