Russell Wilson Predicted to Sign With Struggling AFC Team

It was a disappointing season for New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson. He appeared in six games with three starts. The 10-time Pro Bowler completed 69-of-119 passes for 831 yards, three touchdowns, three interceptions and a 77.4 passer rating.

It may be his only season with the team. With an expiring contract, he is set to hit free agency on March 11. Despite being 37 years old, Wilson already made it clear he's not planning on retiring just yet.

With the potential to enter his 15th NFL season, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton predicts Wilson will sign with the Cleveland Browns, who went just 5-12 in 2025.

"Wilson may have another solid year left in him with a team that plays in his home state of Ohio... Wilson can bring experience and stability to the Browns' quarterback situation," Motton wrote.

Quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders (seven), Dillon Gabriel (six) and Joe Flacco (four) all started games for the Browns last season. Sanders got the most, taking over in Week 12 and keeping the spot until the end of the season.

He completed 120-of-212 passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 68.1 passer rating. However, new head coach Todd Monken hasn't committed to anyone as the 2026 starter.

Along with Sanders and Gabriel on the roster, Deshaun Watson still has one season left on his five-year, $230 million contract. However, he hasn't played since Week 7 of the 2024 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon.

While bringing in Wilson would only add more uncertainty to the quarterback room, it wouldn't cost much. His market value sits at just $5.7 million annually, per Spotrac. Considering he's 37 years old, Cleveland could likely get Wilson on a one-year deal.
