Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints are looking for their first win of the 2025 season, facing the New York Giants in Week 5. Through the first four games, Kamara has been solid with 256 rushing yards, one touchdown, 13 receptions and 49 yards.
Throughout his nine-year career, the running back has become known for his impressive ability as a receiver out of the backfield. Going into the matchup against the Giants, Kamara had 586 career receptions.
During the second quarter, Kamara hauled in a 12-yard reception from quarterback Spencer Rattler, which at the time brought him to 588 all-time receptions.
In doing so, Kamara passed the legendary Marcus Allen (587) for the fifth-most receptions by a running back in NFL history, the Saints announced. The all-time leader in that category is Marshall Faulk (767).
The Saints' X post conveyed a simple message, captioning their announcement "Alvin. Kamara."

Going into the matchup against the Giants, Kamara sat with 4,811 receiving yards, which is the 11th most for a running back in NFL history. However, he has a serious chance to move within the top 10 soon, potentially surpassing Darren Sproles (4,840). Faulk also holds the all-time total in that record at 6,875.
At 30 years old, the five-time Pro Bowler has established himself as one of the most effective and versatile running backs in the NFL. He has gone above and beyond for the Saints, who selected Kamara in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
