We've got ourselves a standalone NFL game tonight to get the weekend going when the Detroit Lions visit the Dallas Cowboys, and there's a very clear player of interest we need a piece of. That would be none other than Dallas's WR1: CeeDee Lamb.
However, while Lamb looks fantastic, his odds aren't quite as exciting as I was hoping for. I'm still betting on him, don't get me wrong, but I'm also going to spread the net because the reason I'm so drawn to Lamb can apply elsewhere.
Detroit's secondary has started to grow into a unit that needs to be targeted with regularity. The Lions are allowing the fourth-most touchdowns to WRs and the seventh-most 20+ yard passes per game. Just last week, Nick Mullens tore up this secondary to the tune of 11 passes of 20 or more yards, and with Dallas back at home, they should find their explosive nature on offense.
Lamb is the obvious choice to capitalize, and sportsbooks certainly seem to agree, pricing his receptions up at 7.5 for tonight's game. When Lamb has caught 7+ balls, he's gone for 100+ in nine of his last 10 games, averaging 126.6 yards per game.
He's also scored in seven straight games, so let's just keep that train rolling.
Just to cover our bases here, I'm also opting to load up Dallas' WR2 in a similar play. Cooks has been a bit quiet of late, but when looking at deep-threats, it's Cooks that has more of that role in this offense than Lamb, coming in with a 13.0 aDOT and 13.0 yards/catch.
Cooks has scored in six of his last 10 games. Let's for a moment project Cooks to see 3+ catches (books have his receptions line at 3.5 juiced to the under). With that volume in tow, Cooks is over this line in five straight games, averaging 76.2 yards/game, scoring four times.
