The Seahawks have placed right guard Anthony Bradford on injured reserve, the team announced. To take Bradford’s roster spot, the Seahawks signed safety Rodney Thomas off their practice squad.

Bradford sat out the Seahawks’ Week 2 win over the Cardinals with hip and knee injuries. The 6-foot-4, 335-pounder will now miss at least four more games, meaning he will log multiple absences for the third time in his four-year career.

A full-time starter for most of his time in Seattle, the 2023 fourth-round pick played 14 games as a rookie. A knee injury limited Bradford to 11 appearances in his second year, but he returned to play his lone 17-game season for the Super Bowl champions in 2025. Pro Football Focus graded Bradford as a bottom-10 guard, however, and the Seahawks showed no interest in extending him during the offseason.

Bradford could exit in free agency next year, but the Seahawks need a replacement for him right now. That may be Christian Haynes, who started against Arizona. He played 43 snaps in the Seahawks’ 31-7 blowout, while fifth-round rookie Beau Stephens took the field for the first 27 plays of his career.

Seattle signed Thomas back in March, but the former Colt did not survive final cuts in late August. He wound up sticking around on the Seahawks’ practice squad, and they elevated him for each of their first two games. Starting in place of the injured Ty Okada, Thomas led Seattle’s defense in snaps (120) and tallied four tackles and two pass breakups during the team’s 2-0 start. Although the Seahawks could have called up Thomas from their practice squad one more time, they decided to add the Yale alumnus to their 53-man roster instead.
