Travis Kelce’s frustrating night in Brazil reached a boiling point Friday when cameras captured the Chiefs tight end losing his cool on his own teammate.
The outburst came during what would become a disappointing 27-21 loss for Kansas City in the NFL’s first game in Brazil. Kelce managed just one catch for 10 yards through three quarters, making his most notable contribution an early collision with rookie Xavier Worthy that knocked his own teammate out of the game with a shoulder injury.
Later in the first half, the three-time Bowl Champion was caught on camera yelling at Chiefs’ right tackle Jawaan Taylor after Taylor’s third penalty of the opening half against the Los Angeles Chargers.
On Friday night, nothing was looking perfect against the Chargers. Everything was going in the opposite direction, especially offensive tackle Taylor, who already racked up two holding penalties and two false starts in the first half.

Not surprisingly, that disrupted the Chiefs’ entire offensive rhythm. So, the veteran tight end came out after Taylor’s latest false start, headbutting him with helmets on in an attempt to get the 27-year-old to wake up and stop committing penalties.
The physical confrontation drew no penalty from officials, who allowed the internal dispute to play out on the sideline. However, it shows that the Chiefs’ early struggles of the season have already begun.
Until the fourth quarter, the most damage Kelce had done to either team came on the third snap of the game, when he collided with Worthy. The accidental hit knocked out the wide receiver with a shoulder injury, further hampering Kansas City’s offensive weapons.
In an already critical situation, Taylor’s penalties consistently placed the team at a disadvantage. So, Kelce just had an emotional outburst directed at his teammate. It didn’t seem like something serious. while watching the moment on camera.
But another moment took everyone off guard when a Chargers defensive tackle slapped Taylor Swift’s fiancé in the third quarter.
Another serious moment evolved when Chargers defensive tackle Teair Tart slapped Travis Kelce hard during Los Angeles’ win over Kansas City. The incident occurred after the two exchanged shoves following a two-yard run by Kareem Hunt with just over eight minutes left in the quarter.

Tart was penalized for unnecessary roughness, giving Kansas City 15 yards and setting up their first touchdown. Officials did not eject him, saying it was not a “disqualifying action” despite the clear strike to Kelce’s helmet.
The penalty cut the Chiefs’ deficit to 13-12, but they struggled miserably later in the game. They failed to regain the bright spot again and ultimately suffered a 6-point loss.
