Should Colston Loveland Fantasy Managers Start to Panic?

We’re still early into the 2026 fantasy football season, but that’s not going to stop managers from panicking. With Colston Loveland, they have a valid reason to do so at this point.

According to the FantasyPros ADP, Loveland was being drafted as the TE3, with an ADP of 40.4 on the year. That’s significant draft capital to invest in a tight end who’s supposed to give you a positional advantage.

Not only has Loveland failed to give you an advantage, but he’s really hurt your fantasy football team. Over two games, Loveland is averaging a remarkably low 0.7 PPG. 

Colston Loveland: Time To Panic?

The lack of production in Week 1 from Loveland was bizarre, considering Chicago scored 59 points, but Loveland didn’t have a single point on two targets. With that being said, the usage in that game was fairly impressive, with him taking 65 snaps, which was 10 more than the second-highest leader on the team (Excluding Caleb Williams).

As for routes run, Loveland led the team in that category by a significant amount as well (34), beating out Luther Burden, who had 27. 

Week 2 was a very low-scoring game, but Loveland would once again lead the team in snaps, although his routes run did dip down to 29. That is a little concerning, considering that it placed him behind three wide receivers on the team. 

I’m not concerned about the long-term outlook of Loveland, but with Williams potentially not playing in Week 3, we may not see a big week just yet.
