Jalen Ramsey and the Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a thrilling 26-19 overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Pittsburgh quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 33 of 49 passes for 253 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Wide receiver DK Metcalf was the main beneficiary, tying Germie Bernard for a game-high 11 catches while finishing with a game-high 93 receiving yards. With Baker Mayfield still injured, Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles gave Jalon Daniels the start. Daniels threw for 164 passing yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.
Although Ramsey was not one of the Steelers defenders to intercept a pass, the 6-foot-1 cornerback had a tremendous game. Ramsey finished with a game-high nine solo tackles, two sacks and a game-high four tackles for loss. The three-time All-Pro sealed the game for Pittsburgh with his overtime sack. With Week 6 in the books, Pittsburgh took to social media to react to the news about its 31-year-old cornerback.
In a post on the social media website X, the Steelers shared a graphic featuring Ramsey, along with an announcement that the former No. 5 overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft had won AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Pittsburgh celebrated the announcement in the caption.
New Orleans Saints cornerback Martin Emerson won the award for the NFC. For the 2026 NFL regular season, Ramsey has recorded 37 total tackles, 23 solo tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in six games.
