Stefon Diggs has signed with a new NFL team

Four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs is now set to play his 12th season in the NFL.

On Wednesday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Washington Commanders have agreed to sign Diggs just days before Week 1 of the preseason.

Schultz reported minutes before that there was “mutual interest” in a deal between the two sides. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is for one year and up to $12 million.

Diggs began his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings after being selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Vikings then traded Diggs to the Buffalo Bills, the team he was with when he made the Pro Bowl four straight seasons. Diggs also had the best years of his career catching passes from Josh Allen, which included a career-high 1,535 yards in 2020.

Diggs was then traded to the Houston Texans in 2024, although he played just eight games due to injury, and he wound up signing a massive three-year, $69 million contract with the New England Patriots prior to the 2025 campaign.

Diggs then caught 85 passes for 1,013 yards with 4 touchdowns as he was a huge part of the Patriots’ Super Bowl run. Unfortunately, New England released Diggs after just one season as the franchise saved cap space due to the move.

Diggs also was dealing with a battery case, although he was found not guilty.

Several teams had interest in Stefon Diggs, but he ended up signing with the Commanders and teaming up with WR Terry McLaurin and QB Jayden Daniels as they try to return to the playoffs after a frustrating 2025 season.
