Storylines To Watch As Packers Training Camp Continues

Now, obviously practice (even in pads) is a very different beast than actual competitive football, but if Lloyd has finally beaten the injury bug, don’t be surprised if he notably cuts into Josh Jacobs workload.

No news is good news for tackles.

One of the biggest lynchpins for the Packers season is whether or not Jordan Morgan can hold up at left tackle. Prior to yesterday his name wasn’t really being mentioned by reporters covering camp in person. This is generally great news. It’s easy to tell when a guy is getting beat up, but when a tackle is doing his job you tend not to notice him.

Brandon Cisse is making the most of his oppurtunities

When the Packers selected Cisse with their first pick of the 2026 Draft, the consensus was that he fit a need, was a solid player, and ultimately would be a project. While he hasn’t taken a starting job yet, its easy to see the promise. Cisse has been mixed in with the ones for several practices as both Valentine and Nixon have dealt with minor injuries. He’s taken advantage of the chances, with an impressive showing in 1v1’s yesterday.

Jonathan Gannon may go full Flores until Parsons returns

This may be a bit of hyperbole, but early reports from camp suggest that Gannon may try and mitigate the absence of Parsons by blitzing more. The defense was able to get home on the QB several times by deploying a number of CB blitzes, including several by the previously mentioned Cisse.

It wouldn’t surprise me either if Gannon sent Cooper on blitzes more as well, both to take advantage of his athleticism and to mitigate an inexperienced EDGE room.

With Parsons aiming for a week six return, Gannon may not have to do it for long, but I expect Green Bay’s defense to play weird until he returns.
