Tennessee Titans Weigh Their Options Following Recent Kicking Disasters

The Tennessee Titans continue to experience some drama throughout training camp, including some bad outings from players across many different positions. This time, they received some bad news on the special teams side of things, which isn't exactly what fans would want to hear.

Slye has had some bad outings recently. The worst outing that he has had came in camp on Thursday, as he finished the day with three missed field goals. This is something that can't happen, especially for the Titans, who have shown struggles in scoring with their offense.

While fans would give the returning kicker the benefit of the doubt, he would make yet another mistake, but this time it happened in front of the fans at Nissan Stadium.

The kicker would miss a field goal, which ruined a solid drive led by starting quarterback Cam Ward, who had an exceptional night on the field with the franchise. The kicker was perfect other than this miss; however, it shows that he is continuing to struggle. With the season coming quickly, the Titans have started to weigh their options.

The Titans Look Outside the Box for Possible Kicker Help

According to a report from Arye Pulli , the Titans worked out multiple kickers during practice on Saturday. The three kickers that they reportedly tried out include John Hoyland, Parker Romo, and Younghoe Koo.

According to PFF, adding a kicker like Romo isn't ideal, as he finished with one of the worst grades when it comes to the kicker position, finishing with an overall score of 54.4 during the 2025 season. He finished with a 78.6% field goal percentage, which ranked 30th among the 36 kickers who were ranked.

Hoyland has yet to receive any reps in the NFL, which leaves him as a major question mark. This would ultimately be a move that seemed unreasonable for the Titans, as they would be better off just sticking it out with Slye.

The final guy is Koo, who is the most popular option among the kickers listed. Koo finished as one of the worst kickers last season, despite not having enough reps to receive a grade on PFF. I believe that he is going to be the option the Titans go with if they decide to add any of the three, although I would suggest that the Titans stick it out with Slye, especially considering that they extended him back in March.
