Terrion Arnold’s NFL future looks bleak after recent update

Former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold’s legal case has reached another important stage. Arnold was released by the Lions in June shortly after his arrest. While several teams have reportedly shown interest, no deal has materialized as training camps get underway.

“Former Lions corner Terrion Arnold now has an arraignment hearing set before a judge in Tampa for Aug. 13 on the eight felony charges of kidnapping and robbery he’s facing from his arrest last month,” FOX Sports’ Greg Auman reported on Thursday.

The hearing follows Arnold’s arrest last month on four counts each of kidnapping and armed robbery, charges that carry severe penalties under Florida law.

Arnold was initially held without bond before a judge approved his release on a $1 million bond several days later. As part of those conditions, he remains on house arrest at his home in Tallahassee.

His most recent court appearance came on July 10, when the court declined to require GPS monitoring. He is only permitted to travel for approved work-related activities, including NFL tryouts.

Still, with his legal situation unresolved, Arnold remains a free agent as teams continue preparing for the 2026 season.

Terrion Arnold still waiting for another NFL opportunity

Terrion Arnold has continued to draw some interest around the league. His agent, Nicole Lynn, previously confirmed that the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets had all expressed interest after the Lions released him.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Texans hosted Arnold for a workout shortly after his release.

“Former Lions CB Terrion Arnold took a physical in Houston on Thursday for the Texans, and is scheduled to visit two more teams next week, per sources,” Schefter reported July 10.

Those workouts, however, have yet to result in a contract. Ahead of the training camps, teams appear to be taking a cautious approach while Arnold’s case moves through the legal process.
