The Key Ingredient To The Titans' Offense

The discussion about the Titans' offense has primarily centered on Cam Ward. The quarterback, taken No. 1 overall, has captured the attention of many Titans fans. However, when it comes to the Titans' offense, there is one aspect that has not been discussed this offseason, and one player in particular who will be a key ingredient for the group.

Running back Tony Pollard has largely been unmentioned this offseason among the media. The wide receiver room, offensive line and Ward have garnered the most attention, and rightfully so. However, the team needs to create a balance this season to prevent Ward from having to carry a significant portion of the offense. And if you paid attention to last season, the Titans did not have that bad of a running game with Pollard.

The veteran running back came over from Dallas last offseason, looking to prove he could be the lead back. And Pollard did prove he could be the lead back, having his best season as a running back with the Titans with 1,079 yards. Despite having more carries than he had in the 2023 season, Pollard averaged more yards per carry than he did in 2024. Pollard is not only shifty, but he brings power when he runs, finishing each run and falling forward.

The fantastic part of last season is that Pollard put up his career-high in yards despite not having the most complete offensive line and inconsistent quarterback play, along with dealing with a nagging ankle injury. So, imagine what he can do with solid quarterback play and an upgraded offensive line for the Titans.

In Year 2 of Brian Callahan's offense, it will be interesting to see how Pollard continues to grow and become an integral part of this offense as it tries to take the next step.
