The names to know for Super Bowl LVII

The Super Bowl LVII matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles takes place this Sunday. These are the names to know as we approach the big game.

Reid is coaching in his fourth Super Bowl and third with the Chiefs. He also led the Eagles from 1999-2012, winning 224 regular season games and making a Super Bowl appearance following the 2004 season. The offensive mastermind hopes to win his second Super Bowl in four years with KC.

Spagnuolo has a legendary career as a defensive coordinator, winning one Super Bowl with the Giants and one with the Chiefs. He's appearing in his fourth Super Bowl as a coordinator and has been with the Chiefs since 2019. He also served as a head coach with the Rams for three seasons.

Gannon has in his second year as Eagles defensive coordinator and served as cornerbacks coach for the Colts previously, where Sirianni was also on staff. His defense finished third in points allowed and third in yards allowed during the regular season.

The face of the NFL and likely 2022 MVP, Mahomes led the league with 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns. Mahomes is now appearing in his third Super Bowl in five years as the Chiefs starting quarterback. He suffered a high ankle sprain during the Divisional Round vs. Jacksonville, but the injury hasn't stopped the 27-year-old quarterback yet.

Hurts was a second-round pick by Philadelphia in 2020, replacing Carson Wentz late in his rookie season. He's shown steady improvement since then and was a Pro Bowler and MVP candidate this year with 3,701 yards passing and 35 total touchdowns in 15 regular season games. Hurts overcame a shoulder injury late in the season to lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl. College football fans also remember his prominent amateur career well as a top quarterback at Alabama and Oklahoma.

A rookie seventh-round pick, Pacheco has emerged as the Chiefs top back in the latter half of the season. He finished the regular season with 960 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns, and features a powerful running style.

Sanders made the Pro Bowl in his fourth NFL season, finishing the regular season with 1,347 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns. He's averaged a terrific 5.0 yards per carry for his career.

McKinnon is in his second year with the Chiefs, and has shared snaps with Pacheco for much of the year. The veteran is featured on third downs and is a great story, overcoming major knee injuries that sidelined him for two seasons to spark the Kansas City offense. He led all Chiefs backs with 10 touchdowns during the regular season.

Gainwell is in his second season as Philadelphia's third-down back. He had 409 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns during the regular season, and has been very productive during the playoffs, with 160 yards rushing in two games.

Smith-Schuster spent his first five NFL seasons with the Steelers before joining the Chiefs in free agency this year. He was the team's leading wideout this season, with 78 catches for 933 yards and three touchdowns. He missed much of the AFC Conference Championship with a knee injury, but hopes to return for the Super Bowl.

A former star wideout for the Titans, Brown was traded to Philadelphia during the offseason and put together a career year. The fourth-year player had 88 catches for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns during the regular season, but he has only seven catches in two playoff games.

Toney departed the AFC Championship early with an ankle injury, but he has an excellent chance to return for the Super Bowl.
