The Offensive Line of the Miami Dolphins

For years, the Miami Dolphins have searched for consistency in the trenches. Injuries, roster turnover, and constant changes prevented the offensive line from becoming a true strength. Miami appears to have assembled a young, talented group that has the potential to grow together for years. More importantly, each player fills a specific role that complements the others, creating a unit that could finally provide the stability the offense has been missing.

Patrick Paul enters his third NFL season with the opportunity to establish himself as Miami’s franchise left tackle. After developing behind Terron Armstead for his rookie season and anchoring the left side of the line last season, Paul has shown the athleticism and strength needed to protect the quarterback’s blind side. Now it’s his job to prove he can become one of the cornerstones of the offense.

The biggest new addition is rookie Kadyn Proctor, whose rare combination of size and athleticism immediately upgrades the interior of the offensive line. While Proctor played tackle in college, Head Coach Jeff Hafley wants him to begin his NFL career at left guard, where his power can make an immediate impact while allowing him to continue developing his technique. The Dolphins believe Proctor can slide outside and become a starting right tackle if needed, giving the team valuable flexibility for the future.

Veteran center Aaron Brewer remains the steady leader of the group. Coming off an All-Pro season, Brewer’s intelligence, communication, and athleticism make him the perfect player to anchor an offensive line featuring two young guards. His leadership will be just as important as his play on the field as Miami continues building one of the league’s youngest offensive fronts.

Jonah Savaiinaea enters his second NFL season with a fresh opportunity to prove why Miami drafted him. His rookie year was a difficult one after being asked to play left guard, a position that wasn’t his natural fit. Now back at right guard, the Dolphins are hopeful he can rediscover the form that made the Dolphins want to draft him. If he settles in quickly, Miami could finally see the player they envisioned when they called his name on draft day. 

Austin Jackson provides experience and stability at right tackle. When healthy, he has proven to be a dependable starter, and his veteran presence gives Miami’s younger linemen someone to lean on as they continue to develop.

Miami has a young franchise left tackle, a rookie with enormous upside, an All-Pro veteran anchoring the middle, a second-year guard returning to his natural position, and an experienced right tackle. It’s a balanced unit with the potential to grow together, as each player enters the season with a clear role and an opportunity to take the next step. The Dolphins hope the strength of the offensive line comes from the group’s cohesion and development as a whole. 

If this group stays healthy and develops the chemistry every great offensive line needs, Miami could finally have a front five capable of becoming one of the team’s biggest strengths. For the first time in years, the Dolphins aren’t just building an offensive line for one season; they’re building one for the future.
