Hope you're ready for some more football after a weekend jam-packed with action, as we have a Monday Night doubleheader on our hands this evening. Two games call for a two-leg parlay, and we're looking at two favorites to find the end zone in matchups that seem to offer solid opportunity.
Stefon Diggs figures to lead the Bills in targets once again, especially with the news that fellow starting receiver Gabriel Davis is unlikely to play tonight. In Week 1, Diggs had eight catches on nine targets for 122 yards and a touchdown. This Titans secondary was a major issue point last season, allowing the fourth-most touchdowns to wide receivers and seeing chunk plays against them through the air every week. Diggs is in an ideal spot to deliver a big game. He scored last season when Buffalo faced off against Tennessee. The Titans allowed Sterling Shepard to break loose for a 65-yard touchdown in Week 1, and Diggs will likely draw corner Caleb Farley who has had his struggles in his young NFL career.
Dalvin Cook had a solid Week 1. On the positive end, Cook took 20 carries and had three catches, piling up 108 yards from scrimmage. However, Cook did not find the end zone, and he hasn't scored in his past four games. He'll get a good chance to do so tonight against a Philadelphia defense that was just gashed on the ground by the Lions. Detroit racked up 181 rushing yards, with the Eagles consistently missing tackles. Philly let up three touchdowns to Lions running backs in Week 1, continuing a trend from 2021 when the Eagles allowed the seventh-most scores to RBs. Cook's usage is there and in what projects to be a high-scoring game, he's likely to get his chances near the goal line.
Diggs 2+ touchdowns, Cook 2+ touchdowns (+5850 FD)
If you agree with the above reads on two stars to find the end zone, we'd be remiss to not highlight a more lucrative parlay for both to score twice. Don't go overboard with a wager here, but we do find it reasonable to expect big statistical performances from both Stefon Diggs and Dalvin Cook on tonight's MNF doubleheader.
Trey Lance out for the season — We won't lie, we are pretty upset for Trey Lance. We were high on the second-year quarterback having a strong season, going as far as betting on him to win MVP. That's not meant to be here in 2022, as Lance fractured his ankle on a run early in Sunday's game against the Seahawks and is out for the season. That Jimmy Garoppolo signing sure looks better for the Niners now. "Jimmy G" slid right in and helped get San Francisco a win, and the Niners' divisional odds didn't take much of a hit, currently +150 to win the NFC West.
Crazy NFL endings with some massive swings on the young NFL season — Week 2 did not disappoint in the NFL. We had crazy comebacks all over the place. The Jets scored two touchdowns in the final two minutes to stun the Browns. The Dolphins overcame a 21-point fourth-quarter deficit on the back of massive plays from Tua Tagovailoa and his wide receivers to take down the Ravens. The Cardinals forced overtime after being down 16 in the fourth to the Raiders, then won on a fumble return for a touchdown. We're still catching our breath. Some of the biggest surprises here are the Dolphins moving to 2-0 and the Raiders falling to 0-2.
Weekend's winners, including the Las Vegas Aces and Max Homa — Betting favorites for most of the season, the Las Vegas Aces delivered on the hype, clinching the franchise's first title. It took just four games for the Aces to take down the Sun. Chelsea Gray won Finals MVP, averaging 18.2 points in the series. Meanwhile, in the Fortinet Championship, Max Homa defended his title in crazy fashion. Homa chipped in a birdie on 18 and Danny Willett three-putted from inside four feet to blow the lead and the tournament. Homa was the betting favorite entering the weekend.
