The Washington Commanders signed two players Wednesday

The Washington Commanders have made a flurry of roster moves this week. The team is reconfiguring its roster before the beginning of the league’s new year on March 15. The Commanders recently cut quarterback Carson Wentz and defensive back Bobby McCain to save cap space. They added two pieces for depth Wednesday.

Cutting Wentz and McCain saved the Commanders nearly $30 million in cap space. The team used almost a third of that to apply the franchise tag on defensive tackle Daron Payne. On Wednesday afternoon, the team announced two more signings on defense.

According to a statement by the Commanders, the team signed linebacker Milo Eifler and cornerback Rachad Wildgoose on Wednesday. They were both given a one-year contract extension.

Eifler appeared in 10 games for the Commanders last season and recorded four total tackles. Wildgoose appeared in 15 games last season and started in three. He had 16 total tackles and recorded three passes defensed.
