Every year, at least one freshman emerges as a future star for the BYU football program. Last year, it was true freshman running back LJ Martin. Martin made an immediate impact in Fall camp, and he ended up leading BYU in rushing.

On Wednesday, BYU announced eight returned missionaries that will join the program in time for the 2024 season. One of those players, who is already enrolled, is former Timpview standout Pokaiaua Haunga.
