The Buffalo Sabres drafted Bailey 52nd overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He spent three seasons in the OHL appearing for the Kitchener Rangers and Soo Greyhounds. In 168 games, he had 148 points on 75 goals and 73 assists; he was a +16. He appeared in 509 career AHL games with seven different teams. He had 319 points on 180 goals and 139 assists. Bailey was a minus-four with 50 power-play goals, seven shorthanded goals, and 27 game-winning goals. In seven Calder Cup Playoff games, he had three points on two goals and an assist. He was a minus-six with a shorthanded goal. In 141 career NHL games with four different teams recording 23 points on ten goals and 13 assists. He was a -26 with a game-winning goal.
