Michael Hrabel, who the Arizona Coyotes, now the Utah Mammoth, drafted 38th overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. In six starts this season for Tucson, he’s 4-1-1 with a 1.85 goals-against average, a .926 save percentage, and a shutout. He’s tied for fifth in the league in wins, sixth in goals-against average, and tied for tenth in save percentage.
Hrabel joined the Roadrunners last season. In his first 11 career games, he’s 7-2-2 with a 2.36 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage, and a shutout.
Hrabel, before turning pro, spent three seasons at UMass where in 82 games he went 47-27-7 with a 2.26 goals-against average, a .927 save percentage, and seven shutouts. He was a Mike Richter (Top College Goalie) finalist last season, going 18-7-1 with a 1.80 goals-against average, a .943 save percentage, and four shutouts.
Hrabel has a bright future as the 21-year-old is only in his first full professional season. The question will be: when does he get his NHL shot? The Mammoth have Karel Vejmelka and acquired Sebastian Cossa in the offseason as their two goalies. Hrabel will have to wait a bit, but expect his name to be at the top in goalie stats this season with Tucson.
