Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan has made London Knights history by breaking the Knights record with points in 34 straight games. The previous record was held by Dave Gilmore, which was set in the 1993-94 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season.

Cowan has notched two assists in tonight’s matchup against the Windsor Spitfires as the Knights lead 6-3 in the third period. Cowan is currently up to 90 points in 52 games this season.

Cowan was selected by the Maple Leafs No. 28 overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, he signed his three-year, entry-level contract in August. According to CapFriendly, Cowan’s contract has an average annual value of $935,833.

Due to Cowan’s high-point production, he was selected to play for Team Canada at the World Juniors in Sweden. He notched one goal and one assist in five games as Czechia upset Canada in the Quarterfinal matchup.

The Strathroy Ontario, product registered 20 goals and 33 assists for 53 points in 68 games during the 2022-23 campaign with the Knights. He added an additional nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 20 OHL Playoff contests. Cowan was named to the OHL’s 2022-23 Second All-Rookie Team.
