Conn Smythe Winner Sam Bennett Blamed for Roman Josi's Chilling Brain Injury Diagnosis

On Tuesday, it was announced that Roman Josi was diagnosed with a brain injury called POTS, and now, it has seemingly been blamed on Sam Bennett.

This week has been a very busy one in the NHL, but one story that shouldn't be overlooked involves Nashville Predators captain Roman Josi, who was diagnosed with POTS, with the symptoms involving dizziness, fatigue, fainting, rapid heart rate, chest pain and shortness of breath.

Thankfully, it appears that there is optimism he'll be back on the ice for the 2025/26 in the latest update on his status, which also included the player that many believe to be to blame for the situation.

According to reports, Josi's situation worsened after taking a hit from Sam Bennett earlier this season, and while that play wouldn't be responsible for the entire situation, it's safe to say that the hit to the head from the Conn Smythe winner certainly worsened the situation for the Predators captain.

Thankfully for Josi, athletes with this condition are able to compete at the highest level still, and while the diagnosis may need to change some things away from the ice, he's confident his NHL career will continue.

'I've regained the belief that I'll be 100% fit again and can fully attack with Nashville and the Swiss national team next winter.'

This report from Josi was a very scary one for all those involved, and while the hit from Bennett is to blame for the way things have gone, he will be back on the ice next season, and that should allow Josi and the Predators to breathe a huge sigh of relief that he will be okay moving forward.
