The Florida Panthers left no doubt in Game 3, dominating the Edmonton Oilers 6–1 to take a 2–1 lead in the Stanley Cup Final.
With three power-play goals on 11 chances, Florida simply overwhelmed Edmonton to take the lead and move just two games short of winning back-to-back championships.
The Oilers, meanwhile, lost their composure late and racked up 85 penalty minutes throughout a game that featured 35 total penalties and a third-period line brawl.
Through it all, Edmonton captain Connor McDavid didn’t dodge the frustration.
"Not our best at all. I don't think our best has shown up all series long, but it's coming. Shift the focus to find a way to get a win in Game 4."

“This is a low point. Yeah, disappointed obviously,” McDavid said. “Game three of the Stanley Cup Finals, you’d like to play better.”
The Oilers were penalized four times in the first period alone. By the time Corey Perry scored Edmonton’s lone goal early in the second, the Panthers had already built a two-goal lead.
Florida later added to it with goals by Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett, Aaron Ekblad, and Evan Rodrigues.
Still, McDavid offered a direct response when asked about the series outlook following the rout, promising much better play by Edmonton going forward.
“I don’t think our best has shown up all series long,” McDavid said. “But it’s coming.”
Asked about the scrums that broke out once the game was out of reach, McDavid said it was part of playoff hockey.
“I don’t mind when those things happen,” McDavid said. “As I said, it’s what good teams do—fight your way out of the rink.”
Game 4 is set for Thursday in Sunrise, FL, with the Oilers aiming at tying the series before it shifts back to Canada for Game 5.
