Flyers sign Ilya Pautov to entry-level contract
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Monday that they have signed forward prospect Ilya Pautov to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The Flyers chose Pautov with the No. 173 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Draft, and he has spent the two seasons since primarily playing with Krasnaya Armiya Moskva of the MHL.

In 2024-25, he put up 17 goals and 27 assists for 45 points in 52 regular season games before chipping in four points in six postseason games. This past year, he added 10 goals and 13 assists for 13 points in 30 games to go with 10 points in 9 playoff games.

He also had a stint with Zvezda Moskva of the VHL this season, where he scored a goal and dished out four assists for five points in 25 appearances.

The Flyer are coming off of a successful campaign that saw them rally to claim the third-place playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division, upsetting their in-state rival Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round before bowing out in the second round via a sweep at the hands of the eventual Eastern Conference champion Carolina Hurricanes.

Under the leadership of Keith Jones and Daniel Briere, the Flyers front office has continued to stockpile young talent as they look to build up a sustainable contender in the City of Brotherly Love.

Pautov is now the fifth member of the club’s 2024 draft class to sign an entry-level contract with the Flyers, joining Jett Luchanko, Jack Berglund, Spencer Gill and Noah Powell.

With several promising pieces at or under the age of 22 already in the league or knocking on the NHL’s door like Porter Martone, Alex Bump, Denver Barkey, Matvei Michkov, Oliver Bonk and Luchanko, Briere and Co. have over $37 million in cap space this summer to make impact additions to an already solid group, according to PuckPedia.
