Game Highlights: Edmonton Oilers beat Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1
? Perry Nelson-USA TODAY Sports

Another day, another win for the Edmonton Oilers.

The Columbus Blue Jackets rolled into town on Tuesday evening and the Oilers pulled off a 4-1 win to extend their franchise-record winning streak to 14 games. Below are the highlights from the game.

The Oilers opened the scoring in the first period when the team’s second power-play unit converted on an opportunity with the man advantage. Evander Kane drove the puck into Columbus’ zone and fed a pass out front to Warren Foegele, who buried a shot past Elvis Merzlikins to make the score 1-0.

The Blue Jackets were able to answer back and tie the score at 1-1 before the end of the first frame. Brett Kulak turned the puck over behind Edmonton’s net and Dmitri Voronokov was able to take advantage.

Connor McDavid appeared to put the Oilers back out in front in the second period with a power play goal, but the goal was called back because of an offside earlier in the play.

After a scoreless second, the Oilers finally buried one a few minutes into the third period to break the deadlock and go ahead by a score of 2-1. Brett Kulak threw a shot on net from the point and Evander Kane was there to bury the rebound for his 15th goal of the season.

Under one minute later, Connor McDavid put the Oilers up 3-1 with his 17th goal of the year. The Oilers moved the puck around the Blue Jackets’ zone, Leon Draisaitl fed McDavid in the slot, and the captain managed to squeak a shot past Elvis Merzlikins.

In the final few minutes of the third, the Oilers added to their lead. Brett Kulak fed Connor Brown in the slot for a one-timer, the original shot was stopped, and Dylan Holloway was on the doorstep to bury his second goal of the season and first since returning from injury.
