Reilly Smith is not the only player returning to the Vegas Golden Knights for next season.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Golden Knights are expected to re-sign forward Brandon Saad to a deal, keeping him in Vegas for the 2025-26 season.
Sounds like Brandon Saad will be returning to Vegas, too https://t.co/YzFrOEFfsu

The terms of the contract have yet to be disclosed.
Saad began the 2024-25 season on the St. Louis Blues in the final year of a four-year contract with a $4.5 million annual cap hit. However, he was placed on waivers in January for mutual contract termination, wanting to find a NHL team to stick with instead of being demoted to the AHL. Saad would sign a one-year, prorated $1.5 million deal with the Golden Knights just days later.
Saad would end up being an impressive find for the Golden Knights, scoring six goals and 14 points in 29 games with Vegas. He also put up two assists in eight playoff games.
Saad’s re-signing is somewhat of a surprise, largely due to the rumors around Mitch Marner coming to Vegas. It means some cap casualties could be on the horizon, but relief could come in the form of defenseman Alex Pietrangelo landing on long-term injured reserve. While trade rumors have circled around the likes of forwards Tomas Hertl and William Karlsson, it is doubtful that such a drastic change is needed.
Saad clearly impressed the Golden Knights with his performance, and he has been rewarded with being able to stick around in Vegas for at least a little while longer.
