The Vegas Golden Knights were able to grab Game 3 of their second-round playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers. Vegas scored a game-winning goal with 0.4 seconds remaining in regulation to stun the Edmonton crowd.
However, during the game, the Golden Knights had an injury scare to star Mark Stone. Stone collided with the skate of Oilers wing Corey Perry, resulting in an injury.
The veteran tried to remain in the game, but after a few shifts, Vegas decided to pull him. The team has now revealed an injury update on Stone, saying he is going to be day-to-day going forward.
Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy provided the update.
“He’s doing all right,” Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said of Stone. “We’ll keep him as day to day. He wasn’t able to finish the game, we know that. Hopefully he’s better tomorrow and ready to go.
“I think he went into Perry there and it was awkward and he tried to play through it. That’s all I know from what I saw. That would be my best guess.”
Stone hasn't been ruled out for Game 4 yet, but the Golden Knights won't rush him back. His health is of the utmost importance, so it remains to be seen if the star will be able to get back on the ice.
The Vegas star has eight points over nine Stanley Cup Playoff games this year. His presence in the lineup is massive, and the team is hopeful that he can return sooner rather than later.
