Peter DeBoer's future in Dallas was of some concern after the Jake Oettinger comments, but now the team owner has revealed his status moving forward.

The Dallas Stars once again fell one step short of the Stanley Cup Finals in 2025, and despite making some big moves this off-season, they are once again heading into the off-season looking for answers.

One question that many were seeking an answer too was on the future of Peter DeBoer, which many had questioned following the situation involving Jake Oettinger, who DeBoer threw under the bus following the decision to pull him in a must-win Game 5 against Edmonton.

However, his future was solidified by owner Tom Gaglardi in a recent interview, as he made it clear that firing DeBoer isn't on anyone's agenda in Dallas, with the owner believing the team can work through what was an odd situation for everyone on the team.

I don't see firing Pete being on anyone's agenda.

While the quick reaction from fans and neutral observers was to fire DeBoer, with a bit of patience it certainly makes sense to keep him, as he has been very solid in the role as Stars Head Coach since taking over.

Sure, the team hasn't quite made it over the hump since he took over, but right now what they need is stability, and if they can keep building with this core group under DeBoer, it's safe to say that there's always a chance they can make a Stanley Cup run.

As for Jake Oettinger, his media availability after the season made it seem like there was no hard feelings with the Head Coach, and while some on social media expected him to demand a trade in similar fashion to Patrick Roy all those years ago, it appears as though both he and DeBoer will remain in Dallas.
