Kings vs Capitals Game Preview

The Capitals are coming off a 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils and now sit at 5-3. The Capitals are taking on the only winless team in the NHL: the Los Angeles Kings. The fact the Kings still haven't won a game this season doesn't guarantee a win for the Capitals, as they will have to play their best to walk away with a win tonight.

The projected lines for the Capitals are:

Alex Tuch -- Dylan Strome -- Jordan Kyrou

Alex Ovechkin -- Ilya Protas -- Ivan Miroshnichenko

Alaiksei Protas -- Boone Jenner -- Tom Wilson

Anthony Beauvillier -- Jonny Brodzinski -- Ryan Leonard

Jakob Chychrun -- Matt Roy

Martin Fehervary -- Vincent Desharnais

Cole Hutson -- Timothy Liljegren

Logan Thompson

Charlie Lindgren

The projected lines for the Kings are:

Artemi Panarin -- Alex Laferriere -- Adrian Kempe

Trevor Moore -- Quinton Byfield -- Mats Zuccarello

Erik Haula -- Scott Laughton -- Joel Armia

Andre Lee -- Samuel Helenius -- Corey Perry

Erik Gustafsson -- Brandt Clarke

Joel Edmundson -- Drew Doughty

Mikey Anderson -- Brian Dumoulin

Darcy Kuemper

Anton Forsberg

The Capitals are without Rasmus Sandin (knee), Pierre-Luc Dubois (illness), and Justin Sourdif (illness). Dubois will miss his 5th straight game, and Sourdif will miss his 2nd consecutive game. The Capitals have also scratched Ethen Frank and Dylan McIlrath in tonight's matchup. The Kings will be without Alex Turcotte (undisclosed) and Kevin Fiala (leg surgery), and they have scratched Taylor Ward and Cody Ceci.

The Capitals will likely start Logan Thompson tonight, as he comes off a 29-save win over the Devils. The Kings will likely start Darcy Kuemper tonight and look to bounce back after being pulled in the 4-1 loss to the Oilers.

The Capitals host the Kings tonight at 7 PM EST.
