Nashville Predators Announce Seven Players Will Attend Camp on a Tryout

The Nashville Predators are set to open training camp on September 17th. They will play six preseason games, four of which will be at home. The Predators will face the Tampa Bay Lightning twice, the Carolina Hurricanes twice, and also a split-squad game against the Florida Panthers, which will kick off the Predators’ preseason schedule on September 21st. Today, it was announced that the Predators will have seven players attending training camp on a tryout agreement. The seven consist of four forwards, two defenseman, and a goalie. The four forwards are Dylan Gambrell, Daniel Carr, Kyle Marino, and Oasiz Wiesblatt. The defenseman are Zack Hayes and Chad Nychuk, and the goalie is T.J. Semptimphelter.

Dylan Gambrell

Gambrell spent last season with the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL. In 54 games, he had 25 points on 13 goals and 12 assists. He was a minus-six with two power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and 32 penalty minutes. In 189 career AHL games, he has 119 points on 50 goals and 69 assists. He is a minus-seven with nine power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, two game-winning goals, and 85 penalty minutes. In 233 career NHL games, he has 40 points on 17 goals and 23 assists. He is a -28 with two shorthanded goals and 79 penalty minutes.

Daniel Carr

Carr spent the last four seasons with HC Lugano of the NL. In 148 games, he had 124 points on 60 goals and 64 assists. He was a +41 with 146 penalty minutes. In those four seasons, he also played in 29 playoff games, recording 23 points on 11 goals and 12 assists. He was a plus-seven with 16 penalty minutes. In 238 career AHL games, he has 211 points on 104 goals and 107 assists. He was a +67 with 28 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, 18 game-winning goals, and 77 penalty minutes. In 117 career NHL games, he has 37 points on 16 goals and 21 assists. He was a minus-two with three power-play goals and 28 penalty minutes.

Kyle Marino

Marino spent last season with the Milwaukee Admirals. In 66 games, he had 17 points on nine goals and eight assists. He was a plus-six with a power-play goal, four game-winning goals, and 152 penalty minutes. In 205 career AHL games, he has 27 points on 12 goals and 15 assists. He was a -24 with a power-play goal, five game-winning goals, and 439 penalty minutes.

Oasiz Wiesblatt

Wiesblatt spent the last five seasons in the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers. In 283 games, he recorded 288 points on 101 goals and 187 assists. He was a +47 with 35 power-play goals, 22 game-winning goals, and 462 penalty minutes. In 27 playoff games, he had 34 points on 16 goals and 18 assists. He was a +13 with six power-play goals, four game-winning goals, and 54 penalty minutes.

Zack Hayes

Hayes has spent the last six seasons in the AHL. He most recently played for the Laval Rocket, playing in 46 games. Hayes had eight points on two goals and six assists. He was a plus-seven with 51 penalty minutes. IN 178 career AHL games, he has 33 points on nine goals and 24 assists. He is a +32 with a game-winning goal and 172 penalty minutes. In three career NHL games, he hasn’t recorded a point and is a minus-two.

Chad Nychuk

Nychuk last season with the Admirals, where he had four assists in 27 games. He was a plus-four with 18 penalty minutes. In 53 career AHL games, he has 12 points on two goals and ten assists. He is a plus-six with 30 penalty minutes. Nychuk also spent parts of last season with the Atlanta Gladiators, where in 19 games he had ten points on five goals and five assists. He was a minus-three with a power-play goal and two penalty minutes. In 79 career ECHL games, he had 43 points on ten goals and 33 assists. He was a minus-eight with two power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and 14 penalty minutes.

T.J. Semptimphelter

Semptimphelter played in one game with the Bridgeport Islanders last season, going 0-1-0 stopping 18 of the 22 shots he faced. He started his collegiate career at Northeastern University, where in eight games he went 4-3-0 with a 2.05 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage. Semptimphelter then transferred to Arizona State for two seasons, during which he appeared in 62 games, going 31-26-4 with a 2.70 goals-against average, a .911 save percentage, and four shutouts. He then transferred to the University of North Dakota, where in 31 games he went 18-11-2 with a 2.64 goals-against average, a .910 save percentage, and a shutout.
