The Pittsburgh Penguins failed to reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season while their AHL affiliate the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins couldn’t get out of the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs. Both Penguins teams had an early start to the offseason and yesterday they got to work. The Penguins announced they re-signed forward Boko Imama to a one-year contract. Imama played in 16 games with Pittsburgh scoring just one goal. he was a plus-two and had 30 penalty minutes. In 24 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton he had five points on three goals and two assists. He was a minus-seven and had 59 penalty minutes.

The Tampa Bay Lightning drafted Imama 180th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in 31 career NHL games recording just two goals. He is a career minus-one with 47 penalty minutes. In 334 career AHL games he’s recorded 77 points on 32 goals and 45 assists. He is a career -38 and has 769 penalty minutes. In the AHL his career high in points is 14 which he did twice both with the Ontario Reign. His career high in goals came in 2020-21 when he scored nine. In 2023-24 and 2019-20 he recorded a career high in assists with ten. Imama in 2022-23 saw his only plus season as he was a plus-three. In 2021-22 he recorded a career high in penalty minutes with 178 in 54 games.
