Quinn Hughes Shows Anger With the Media When Asked About Brother Jack's Comments: 'What's He Supposed to Say?'
Bob Frid-Imagn Images

Recently, Jack Hughes stated he wants to play with his brother Quinn, and now the Canucks captain has also commented on the Devils speculation.

Last season was a struggle for the Vancouver Canucks, and if that continues, it may have a monumental effect on this franchise moving forward, especially on their captain Quinn Hughes.

Through much of their struggles, speculation emerged that the team captain potentially wanted to be in New Jersey with his brothers Jack and Luke, and recently, that was a topic that was addressed by the Devils star centre.

'This is the headline question, you know?

Honestly, I'm not afraid to say it. Yeah, I would love for Quinn to -- eventually I'd love to play with him. And whether that's in New Jersey or at what time that takes, at some point I want to play with Quinn. But yeah, that's the question going around.

They talk all day about it up in Vancouver, you know? But yeah I'd love to play with Quinn at some point.'

Quinn Hughes responds to his brothers comments

Now, Quinn has addressed Jack's comments, and while he notes that it would be fun to play alongside his brothers, he's also motivated to help turn things around in Vancouver after a disastrous season.

'I mean, he's my brother. What's he supposed to say, first of all? 'Like, I don't want to play with him, you know?' ... I mean, we have contracts and whatnot. He's on a different team. Would it be fun to play with those guys at some point? Of course. I think if you guys have brothers, you guys would say the same thing. But we do have contracts. I'm excited to be in Vancouver, and I feel like last year was a little bit of failure. So I feel like I got things to do there. And I know Jack loves, he loves Jersey, and he's got stuff to do also.'

Clearly, the brothers are tight and want to play together at some point, and while Hughes is a free agent in the summer of 2027, it doesn't appear that he's ready to push his way out of Vancouver anytime soon.
