The Florida Panthers are rolling to another Stanley Cup Finals, but in Game 2, star forward Sam Reinhart went down with what could be a scary injury.
Thus far in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Florida Panthers have stayed relatively healthy, but with just two wins to go before their potential third straight Stanley Cup Finals, they've now got a potential injury issue to worry about.
In a Game 2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, forward Sam Reinhart went down after a hit from Sebastian Aho, forcing him to leave the game in what appeared to be a very scary incident.
On inspection from another angle, this was a brutal, unnecessary hit from Aho that seemed to target the legs of Reinhart, and not long after leaving, it was revealed that he would miss the remainder of the game.
With a 2-0 lead in the series, the hope is that Reinhart can get back on the ice for Game 3, but with the team wanting to be healthy for the Stanley Cup Finals, the team can afford to be patient with him after back-to-back wins on the road to start this series.
Even without Reinhart, the Panthers absolutely dismantled the Hurricanes for the second straight night, with the home team getting booed off the ice after failing to record a goal and falling 2-0 in the series at home.
After the game, Paul Maurice noted that Reinhart would be looked at on Friday, and while there's some cause for concern, the hope is that things aren't quite as bad as they look.
