Trevor Zegras signs four-year extension with Flyers

The deal carries Zegras to free agency at the age of 29, giving him another shot at a big deal as the NHL salary cap continues to grow. The deal comes less than a week after the Flyers attempted to offer sheet Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson, a deal that the Ducks matched.

Zegras led the Flyers to their first playoff appearance in six seasons, and posted six points in 10 playoff games as Philadelphia made it to the second round. Expectations remain high next season, especially with the emergence of rookie winger Porter Martone — and Zegras will remain a key part of the Flyers’ offense.
