The past few seasons for the Vancouver Canucks have been a bumpy ride, and after such a promising finish in 2023-24 when they won the Pacific Division, things have only gone down hill.
The 2024-25 season was highlighted by the constant J.T. Miller/Elias Pettersson drama that saw the former traded, but this past season, it was nothing but pure struggle on the ice for the team. That resulted in Vancouver trading captain Quinn Hughes to Minnesota, and after all that, the team lost the NHL Draft Lottery, as they are now slated to pick No. 3 in the 2026 NHL Draft.
All of this led to the departure of general Manager Patrik Allvin, and over the past few weeks, there has been speculation over who will take on the role next.
Then, there was the added intrigue of Vancouver legends Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who the Canucks wanted to bring into the fold as members of the front office. On Thursday, things have started coming together, as Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal has revealed that the Sedin twins will take over as co-presidents, while former assistant general manager Ryan Johnson will be at the helm as GM.

Although the Canucks organization are yet to make it official, a press conference will be held on Thursday to announce the news, with the team setting themselves up for long-term success with their star twins and Johnson in the GM role.
It's not going to be easy for the three however, as Vancouver have one of the least talented rosters in the NHL, and while they'll hope to add a young star at the No. 3 overall pick in June, Johnson and the Sedin's certainly have their work cut out for them.
