Eagles HC Nick Sirianni responds to new tush push controversy

The Philadelphia Eagles used the tush push to great success in their Week 2 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. A successful two-yard conversion using the play on 3rd-and-1 sealed an Eagles' 20-17 victory.

In total, the Eagles used the tush push seven times against the Chiefs. Fans online and Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones thought the Eagles jumped offsides before executing the play.

"We think he jumped multiple times," Jones said after the game. "An official didn't see it so it wasn't called."

Nick Sirianni defends the Philadelphia Eagles' use of the tush push

On Monday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was asked by reporters if he'd make adjustments to the play when they run it next, as officials and opponents will take notice of any early jumps in future contests.

Sirianni made sure not to admit the Eagles jumped offsides, but said the offense has to be "perfect" running the tush push given the high-profile nature of the play.

“I think that the one clip I saw of it was slowed down so much that I’m not sure you can see that to the naked eye," Sirianni said via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. "I mean, it was slowed down so much, and I get how we can manipulate things and show things like that, but it was slowed down so much ... But we understand that we have to be perfect on that play."

Sirianni added that many flags could be thrown for other illegal actions taken on plays not seen by the naked eye, further defending his players instead of admitting Philadelphia might have gotten away with one.

It's fair to think the Eagles won't get away with jumping early on the tush push when they host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3.
