Report: Packers make David Bakhtiari highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history

We now know the meaning behind David Bakhtiari's smiley face tweet from 12:14 a.m. ET Sunday morning.

The Green Bay Packers offensive lineman just became the highest-paid player at the position in NFL history, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Bakhtiari and the Packers agreed to a four-year extension worth up to $105.5 million in new money, which averages $23 million per year and could reach up to $23.5 million per season.

Bakhtiari has been with the Packers since 2013 and was selected by Green Bay in the fourth round of the draft.

He missed the team's last three games with a chest injury and returned to the lineup on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
