Memphis men's basketball game at No. 8 Houston postponed due to COVID-19

The Memphis Tigers have had a second game scrapped due to COVID-19 issues.

Memphis and the American Athletic Conference have announced that Sunday's scheduled game between the Tigers and the No. 8-ranked Houston Cougars is postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases, contact tracing, and subsequent quarantines among Memphis players, coaches, and staff members.

"The University remains in constant contact with the AAC's Medical Advisory Group, and additional information based on their recommendations will be announced as it is available," Memphis added.

Memphis was set to face the Cincinnati Bearcats on Thursday night until the Tigers paused activities on Wednesday. There's currently no announced timetable for Memphis' return.

Memphis is next scheduled to play at the Wichita State Shockers on Feb. 18. Houston, meanwhile, won't face the East Carolina Pirates next Wednesday because East Carolina is on a pause. The Cougars host Cincinnati on Feb. 21.

Houston currently sits atop the AAC standings with an 11-2 league record and an overall mark of 17-2. Memphis is in third place at 12-6 overall and 8-3 in conference play.
