The Houston Astros needed every bit of Carlos Correa's milestone home run on Wednesday. In a game the Astros edged out the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2, Correa reached a new round number for career home runs.
With Houston clinging to just a 1-0 lead at the time, Correa stepped to the plate in the sixth inning, sitting on 199 career home runs. That would quickly change as he sent the third pitch of the at-bat into the bullpen in left field for the 200th long ball of his 12-year career.
The ball jumped off Correa's bat, traveling an estimated 393 feet. The Rogers Centre crowd may have booed the home run, but that didn't take away from the moment for the former three-time All-Star.

Correa, who finished the game 2-for-4, now has 12 home runs and 49 RBI on the year during time spent with the Minnesota Twins and back with Houston, where he spent the first seven years of his career. Correa was named the 2015 American League Rookie of the Year and was a member of the Astros' 2017 World Series-winning team.
The Blue Jays would tie the game with two runs in the eighth before Houston broke the tie in the ninth, allowing Correa to celebrate a win along with his personal achievement.
Now at 79-67, the Astros hold a slim lead at the top of the American League West. This means Correa will likely be able to further build his Astros legacy with more big hits when the games matter the most.
