Watch: Rockies third baseman takes advantage of Pirates laziness' to steal home

The Colorado Rockies had a successful night against Pittsburgh Pirates rookie Jared Jones, scoring six runs against him in five innings.

The sixth of those runs came when Ryan McMahon successfully stole home by simply taking advantage of what can only be described as a lazy throw back to the pitcher from Pirates catcher Yasmani Grandal.

Have a look.

That play simply can not happen at the major league level. Grandal had been lobbing his throws back to the pitcher the entire inning and just before McMahon stole home the Rockies third base coach was talking to him and pointing something out, presumably alerting him to those throws.

McMahon took advantage of it.

You do not see straight steals of home plate very often, but the Rockies saw an opportunity for it here. they took advantage of it.
