Watch: Oilers secure Game 5 win with frantic empty-net finish

The Edmonton Oilers forced a Game 6 in the Stanley Cup Final with a 5-3 Game 5 win on Tuesday night. It was a stunning performance from captain Connor McDavid with another four-point game (his second in a row), and he capped that off with an empty-net goal in the closing seconds.

It was also one of the most exciting empty-net goals you will ever see in an NHL game, especially when you take into account the context of the series and what was at stake.

The whole play started when the puck was slowly rolling toward the Panthers' vacated net, resulting in Matthew Tkachuk making a diving save to swat the puck away from the goal line just before it crossed. 

The only problem? It ended up going right to McDavid who was able to deposit it into the empty net.
