Even if Bronny James opts to work out for only two teams ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft, numerous others apparently also have a high level of interest in the former USC guard and son of LeBron James.
While the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns are the two visits James has had thus far, his agent, Rich Paul, highlighted three others who "love" the 19-year-old guard.
During an interview with ESPN's Jonathan Givony, Paul discussed his approach to finding Bronny's future NBA home, detailing a few additional potential landing spots beyond the Lakers and Suns.
Paul highlighted the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks and Toronto Raptors as additional teams high on James.
"There are other teams that love Bronny. For example, Minnesota, Dallas, Toronto. If it's not the Lakers, it will be someone else. Minnesota would love to get Bronny in, but I don't know who their owner is going to be. [Mavs GM] Nico Harrison is like an uncle to Bronny. If the Lakers don't take him at 55, Dallas would take him at 58 and give him a guaranteed deal. Masai [Ujiri, Raptors president,] loves him. They could take him without even seeing him at 31. Workouts aren't everything for these teams."
All three teams are noteworthy for various reasons, and Paul also confirmed the Lakers and Suns are the only two teams Bronny has worked out for. He said it's unlikely the guard will do any others, barring some "last-minute stuff."
Paul citing the question of who the Timberwolves owner would be is an interesting angle. But also pinpointing the Mavericks at pick No. 58, a spot that could make a lot of sense if Bronny is still on the board. Arguably the most interesting mention by Paul was the Raptors at No. 31, the first selection in the second round.
If James is available in the mid-to-late first round and the Raptors have interest at No. 31, it could create added pressure on the Lakers at No. 17 and Suns at No. 22. That'll be a situation to monitor, and Paul's comments about Toronto should have the attention of any team with interest who holds a late first-round selection.
