JJ Redick admits LeBron James is a problem for the Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have gone 8-5 since LeBron James made his season debut after missing the first stretch of the season with a sciatica injury.

Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves had done just fine in his absence, with both looking like All-NBA candidates.

Now, with the Lakers in the midst of a three-game losing streak, JJ Redick vowed to make things "uncomfortable" for his players during film sessions.

The second-year coach called out some players for their lack of effort, and while he didn't mention any player by name, he's now finally admitted that his team has struggled to adapt to James' return.

“Since we’ve gotten Bron back, we haven’t been as organized offensively. Too many random possessions. That’s on me. It’s those three things: defensive clarity, role clarity and offensive organization,” Redick told the media, per Bleacher Report. 

According to StatMuse, James has a box-plus-minus of -59 this season. 

Early-season numbers already suggested that the Lakers didn't need the four-time NBA champion to be at their best this season, and while his averages are as good as always to the naked eye, the bulk of his production has come in garbage time or hasn't necessarily translated into wins.

James doesn't have anything to prove at this point in his career. Still, his effort on defense, rebounding and playing without the ball has left plenty to be desired.

Redick isn't going to bench him and the Lakers won't even entertain the thought of trading him. Still, given how things have fared and with Reaves and Doncic there, they may not be in a rush to get him back on the team next season.
