Brad Keselowski will be well enough to drive the No. 6 RFK Racing Ford in the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15 and beyond, but his recovery from a broken leg suffered on a December ski trip is far from done.
Keselowski was officially cleared by NASCAR on Monday to race at Daytona.
In a Monday interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Keselowski's crew chief, Jeremy Bullins, explained that his driver's rehabilitation process will be ongoing as Keselowski competes in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season.
"It's like any recovery from an injury," Bullins told SiriusXM. "I think he feels good. You look at it, we're eight weeks from breaking your leg, right? He's doing a really good job. [He] had a really good team and a really good plan when it comes to the rehab and everything they've done to get to this point."
As Keselowski begins his quest for a second Cup Series title, the 41-year-old driver will have to balance performance with a continued recovery process.
"We've done everything we [can] to help him out on the car side," Bullins said. "Trying to just make sure he's comfortable in the car. We're not done. The rehab doesn't start because Daytona's here. His recovery through the weeks and the rehab and continuing to get stronger, that's going to go on for the first half of the season for us. We're going to be fine, but it's just part of the process."
Corey LaJoie filled in for Keselowski in the Feb. 4 exhibition Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. Keselowski will go for his first career Daytona 500 victory on Feb. 15.
