The 2026 NFL Draft is just around the corner, and the Pittsburgh Steelers still don't have a quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers has yet to announce whether he'll return for another season or retire, and the Steelers have a personnel decision to make.
According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, this could be just a big show so Rodgers can surprise home fans at some point during the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.
However, it could also be that the Steelers truly don't know what he'll do.
"Buzz was starting to build that at some point over the course of Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Aaron Rodgers would show up and say he's back for another year," Florio said. "Steelers still don't know what Aaron Rodgers' gonna do. Now, maybe that's part of the setup, or maybe they just want the folks who're gonna be at the draft this weekend to not get their hopes up."
Rodgers isn't the game-wrecking quarterback he used to be, but he's still well above average.
The Steelers replaced Mike Tomlin with Mike McCarthy, Rodgers' former head coach at Green Bay, so they clearly still want him to return.
Of course, he's not going to turn them into a Super Bowl contender overnight, but he still plays the most important position in team sports, and as such, they desperately need to get some clarity about his situation.
Who knows? Rodgers marches to the beat of his own drum, so people might be in for a surprise on April 23.
