The New England Patriots cut ties with Stefon Diggs early in the offseason.
They pivoted to Romeo Doubs as soon as free agency opened, and they're still tied to a potential move for A.J. Brown.
That's why it's not much of a surprise to hear that other teams might also be keeping tabs on some of their pass catchers.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, teams have inquired about Kayshon Boutte's potential availability.
"A name that has come up in trade talks is Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte, who is entering the final year of his contract, according to multiple league sources," Schultz wrote. "With Romeo Doubs coming in and the eventual A.J. Brown trade, teams believe he could be available for the right price."
Boutte showed strong chemistry with Drake Maye last season, posting the best numbers of his three-year career.
According to Football Reference, Boutte finished the campaign with 33 receptions on 46 targets for 551 yards and six touchdowns, adding nine receptions on 20 targets for 160 yards and another score in the playoffs.
He's fast and elusive, but he's never going to be a primary option as long as Doubs and potentially Brown are in Foxborough. As such, the Patriots could probably land a Day 2 pick by moving on from him.
The Philadelphia Eagles must wait until June 2 to move on from Brown because of the structure of his contract, but that shouldn't stop the Patriots from sending Boutte elsewhere if they get the right offer during or right after the NFL Draft.
