For two players with a lot to prove in the playoffs, Donovan Mitchell and James Harden have been a dynamic duo for the Cleveland Cavaliers through the first two games of their first-round series.
Through two games, as the Cavaliers hold a 2-0 series lead over the Toronto Raptors, Mitchell and James have been at their absolute best.
First, they combined to score 54 points with eight three-pointers between them as the Cavaliers won the series opener 126-113 on Saturday. They then stepped up again on Monday, leading Cleveland to a 115-105 victory.
Upping their production even more, Mitchell and Harden totaled about half of the Cavaliers' total points in game two of the series. Mitchell reached 30 points for the second consecutive game, connecting on 13-of-23 shots from the field with four from long range again. He also brought down seven rebounds, dished out five assists and even converted a steal.
And as for Harden, Cleveland's trade deadline addition with past postseason failures tainting his otherwise Hall of Fame-worthy career, he put up 28 of his own after scoring 22 on Saturday.

Harden, who also contributed five boards and four assists, moved up the all-time list, which shows how much he can impact a game and defend his legacy somewhat. With five in Monday's win, Harden is now in 11th on the NBA's career playoff steals list.
Harden's 288 puts him only four shy of tying San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginobili for a spot in the top 10, something likely to occur this postseason barring an epic collapse by the Cavaliers. Once he gets over Ginobili, Harden can get himself all the way past Larry Bird for eighth with only a few more.
It's now up to Mitchell and Harden to keep doing their part and making short work of the Raptors, thus allowing the Cavaliers to rest up before the second round.
