Add Jacoby Brissett to the growing list of Jeremiyah Love believers.
The Arizona Cardinals quarterback returned to practice this week after finally settling his contract dispute with the team. Brissett spoke to reporters Sunday about settling back into training camp, which runs from July 22 to August 11.
One reporter asked Brissett to weigh in on Love, the standout Notre Dame running back the Cardinals drafted third overall in April. Brissett admitted that he hasn’t taken the field with Love yet, given the contract standoff, but has been able to watch him “do his thing” from the sidelines.
Like most fans who have ever watched Love juke the socks off unsuspecting defenders, Brissett stated that he understood what the Cardinals saw in him.
“I see why we paid him $50M, that’s for sure,” Brissett said of Love.

Brissett’s praise of Love was a welcome assessment for the team’s fan base, especially after Cardinals OC Nathaniel Hackett made a strange comment about Love on the same day.
The Cardinals signed Love to a 4-year, $53.9 million contract in May that the team fully guaranteed. Love’s plan for his money may have made Cardinals fans respect him even more.
