Marlins snap 12-game losing streak with stunning comeback win

The Miami Marlins entered Monday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies on a 12-game losing streak, and it didn't appear that it would be ending.

Up against Phillies ace Zack Wheeler, it felt as if it would be an uphill battle for the Marlins to end the losing streak at 12. In what turned into a roller coaster of an evening, Miami stunned Philadelphia in the ninth to end its skid.

Marlins rally for three in the ninth

A back-and-forth contest came to a head entering the bottom of the ninth inning when the Marlins trailed 7-5 and were up against elite closer Jhoan Duran.

Duran entered Monday with a 1.29 ERA on the season, but he saw that jump to 2.04 after a disastrous appearance. Duran collected just one out while allowing five hits and three runs. Monday's outing was the first time Duran had allowed a run since June 9 and just the second time all season he'd allowed multiple runs.

Miami first tied the game with a two-run single from Heriberto Hernandez to tie the game at seven-a-piece.
