Can Jamal Adams further his career revival with the Vikings?

With some NFL training camps already underway, the Minnesota Vikings pulled off a late signing that has a chance to be among the most underrated additions of the offseason.

Late on Monday night, on the eve of the Vikings' camp opening, Jamal Adams agreed to a deal with Minnesota. The deal is believed to be for one year, granting the strong safety his 10th season in the NFL. "Year 10. #Skol," is how Adams confirmed the news on social media.

Minnesota will now be Adams, 30, sixth different NFL team, finding a new home after spending the 2025 season with the Las Vegas Raiders.

While Adams' lone year in Las Vegas occurred during a miserable 3-14 season for the Raiders, the three-time Pro Bowler showed enough to make him an attractive commodity again.

2025 marked Adams' most productive season in years

Adams, who appeared in 17 games for the first time in his career, recorded 45 total tackles with 30 credited as solo, five tackles for a loss, a sack and a forced fumble. His 2025 season was his most productive campaign individually since registering 48 tackles in nine games for the Seattle Seahawks in 2023.

But the Vikings are hoping that there's a chance Adams can turn back the clock even further and morph back into the All-Pro force that roamed the field early in his career.

Adams was once on track to be a star in the NFL

The sixth overall pick out of LSU in 2017, Adams started off his professional career by making 83 tackles as a rookie with the New York Jets and then posting a still career-high 115 in 2018. Adams also managed to get to the quarterback back then as well, highlighted by his 6.5 sacks in 2019 and 9.5 in 2020 after being traded to the Seahawks.

Can Adams ever return to his past All-Pro form?

Adams was named to three Pro Bowls, a second-team All-Pro twice and a first-team All-Pro once (2019) from 2018-20 before injuries derailed his career and led to bouncing around to the Titans, then the Lions, before experiencing a healthy season with the Raiders.

And now, as Adams begins another new chapter, the question is whether 2025 was an outlier or a sign of more to come?
